Taco Soup

1lb ground beef browned and drained
1 can beans undrained (black, kidney, pinto, or other kind)
1 can corn undrained
1 can crushed tomatoes (can be petite diced or whatever other kind you have)
1/3 c. salsa
4-5 t. chili powder
dash of garlic salt and onion salt (I use a little more than a dash-just add to taste)

Simmer 10 mins.
Garnish with grated cheese, sour cream, and tortilla chips

I don't use a whole pound of beef. I get beef at Costco and I use one of those patty things their beef comes in. You can also use chicken.

French Dip Sandwich

FRENCH DIP SANDWICHES

1 (3-4 lb.) lean roast
1/2 c. soy sauce
1 beef bouillon cube
1 bay leaf
3-4 whole peppercorns
1 tsp. rosemary
1 tsp. thyme
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 loaf French bread or hard rolls

Remove and discard all visible fat from roast. Place in a slow cooker. Combine soy sauce, bouillon and spices, pour over roast. Add water to cover roast 3/4 of the way. Cover and cook over low heat 10-12 hours or until meat is very tender. Shred meat with a fork. Serve on hard rolls or French bread. Dip sandwiches in broth as you eat them. Yields: 12 sandwiches.

This is fun to have for a change. I love french dips and this isn't quite my favorite but it's still good.
